people advised Madrid Emprende

Summary

  • Of the more than 6,000 people who have received advice from the Madrid Emprende municipal service in 2022, 3,192 (52 %) have been women, in a clear example of Madrid City Council's support for female entrepreneurship and projects led by women
  • There is a notable increase with respect to the 3,000 people advised in 2020, which means "recovering and even exceeding pre-pandemic levels"
  • The training figures also show positive data with a total of 5,439 people trained by the Madrid Emprende centers and services

The person in charge of Innovation, Ángel Niño, has given these data in his speech in eWoman Business, a reference forum for women entrepreneurs.

The delegate councilor for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Ángel Niño, recalled the support of "this municipal government for the promotion of female entrepreneurship and projects led by women" during the round table 'Reinvent yourself to move forward' scheduled by andWoman Business, a benchmark event for professional and entrepreneurial women organized by Womenalia. This day represents a meeting point for prestigious speakers, exclusive workshops, debates and colloquiums and has been held since 2011.

As detailed by Niño, the Madrid Emprende municipal service has advised more than 6,000 people to start up their company during 2022. Specifically, 3,192 women and 2,852 men have used the services of Madrid Emprende, which means, according to the delegated councillor, that “ in 2022, 52 % of the 6,000 people advised to start a company by Madrid Emprende are women” with the intention of developing a business idea.

More than double the people advised compared to 2020

On the other hand, the Madrid City Council "recovers and exceeds the figures of the municipal entrepreneurship services prior to the pandemic", as explained by the delegate councilor. Compared to the 3,000 people advised in 2020 and the 1,400 in 2021, in 2022 they have already exceeded 6,000 with two months to complete the year.

Refering to training taught by the Madrid Emprende centers and associated organizations, the data shows a strengthening of the ecosystem. To date, in 2022, 5,439 people have benefited from Madrid City Council training, of which 2,249, 41.34 %, are women

The delegate councilor specified these formations that "include steps to make a company grow: internationalization, networking, partners agreement and the possibility of being part of the network of centers of the City Council”. "If this project can be successful, the City Council will be at the side of the entrepreneur to achieve it," he added.
