On July 1, within the framework of the Spanish Strategy for Science and Technology and Innovation of the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness, the presentation of the Innovative SME Seal, created under the Order ECC/1087/2015.
This seal was created with the objective of increasing deductions and tax aid for Small and Medium-sized companies that are committed to innovation, facilitating their approach to public procurement, as well as guiding and supporting business associations and entities in the sector in the identification of innovative SMEs and the promotion of the Seal.
The City of Madrid, via Madrid Emprende, as an entity committed to promoting SMEs and job creation, understands the need to value these measures, in collaboration with other agents involved in the management and support of Small and Medium-sized companies.
The day was opened by Ferdinand Herrero, General Deputy Director of Economic Promotion and Smart City, who acted as master of ceremonies in the reflection on certification.
The General Coordinator of the Mayor's Office, Luis Cueto Alvarez de Sotomayor, presented "this Seal with legal and economic content, which is not just a seal, it is much more" since as the former Deputy Director General for the Promotion of Business Innovation of the Secretary of State for R+D+I, MINECO, he was the in charge of starting it. This certification will focus on three key aspects: the resources available to the company, the processes it follows and the results obtained.
Juan Manuel Garrido Moreno, Deputy Deputy Director General for Promotion of Business Innovation of MINECO, presented the advantages that the Seal will bring to SMEs in R&D demand contracts in companies, in taxation and in aid for R&D+i. For this, it will be essential to demonstrate the innovative character of the company.
Certifying companies also participated in the conference AENOR and EQA, who commented that the certification process will be prepared for the self-assessment of the SMEs themselves.
Luis J. Guerra Casanova, from the Department of Industrial Leadership of the CDTI of the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness, presented us with the Horizon 2020 SME Instrument, a market accelerator. According to Guerra, the 37% of SMEs have elements of innovation at a European level but only between 3% and 4% achieve high growth, so this type of grant helps to include the growth vector.
To close the day, two entrepreneurs shared their experience: Jorge Rodelgo, from iphonedroid custom app development company, company graduated from del Vicálvaro business incubator and Jose Luis Marina, from TANIWA Solutions, SL, company housed in the Carabanchel business incubator that you develop with your application memetum eHealth solutions.
