On May 20, the first edition of the Municipal Market of Planetary Producers will take place

The first edition of the Municipal Producers' Market of the Planetarium will be held on May 20 in the district of Arganzuela with 36 small producers from Madrid (merchants whose exploitation is located at a distance of no more than 120 kilometers from the capital). The Market will be located under the roofs of Avenida del Planetario a few meters from the IMAX and next to Parque Tierno Galván. This Producers Market will be held on the third Sunday of each month from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. promoted by the General Directorate of Commerce and Entrepreneurship of the Equity, Social Rights and Employment Area.

Marta Higueras, First Deputy Mayor and head of this Area, justifies the launch of this Market in response to the growing demand from consumers for having channels that allow them to directly purchase agri-food products from producers.

These markets seek to promote sustainable consumption and quality crafts, while serving as a boost to job creation, entrepreneurship and the promotion of sustainable practices that are respectful of the environment.

In this edition you can buy, among other products, oils, meats, vegetables, fruits and natural juices, cheeses, eggs, honey, sweets, preserves, fresh pasta and snacks. Along with this, other activities will be organized such as theme days, product tastings, gastronomic talks and children's workshops.
