The Madrid City Council, through the DG for Commerce and Entrepreneurship, has once again participate with Fundación Repsol in the 3rd Energy Championship with conscience thanks to the smooth collaboration between both institutions.
This program, an initiative of the Repsol Foundation, was born with the aim of making future generations aware of the importance of making responsible use of energy resources -and especially of the public centers where they study-, in addition to arousing interest for science and respect for the environment.
energy with consciousness brings the world of energy efficiency closer to the academic field, through the development of energy audits in educational centers where students of 3rd and 4th year of Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO), develop a series of workshops and experimental, participatory and educational scientific activities, that encourage research skills, creativity and teamwork.
This event ends the III edition of the Energy with a Consciousness project, where the 5 best teams participated in the grand final. During the event, the young people explained their energy improvement project in front of the jury -where there were representatives of the Madrid City Council-, and the rest of the finalists.
In this 2017 edition, the Conscious Energy Championship A total of 34 centers have been presented, among which the five finalists who participated have been selected and after the deliberation of the jury and the votes through Facebook, the winners were:
- 1st place: IES San Juan Bautista de la Concepción (Almodóvar del Campo, Ciudad Real), has received 7,000 euros
- 2nd place: INS Berenguer D ́Entença (L'Hospitalet de l'Infant, Tarragona), has received 3,000 euros
These awards will serve in both cases to develop the proposal that they have presented in this contest, consisting of an audit of their educational center to evaluate and propose energy improvements.
The second prize was awarded by the General Director of Commerce and Entrepreneurship, Concha Díaz de Villegas.
