The municipal markets bring quality products closer to the neighbors. But also, the 46 Madrid markets they are a meeting point in the neighbourhood, a place where shopping becomes an experience and you can enjoy different types of events, as highlighted by the campaign “I like my Market”, which is taking place this month.
On Thursday, May 25, as part of this campaign, the "Night of the Markets". driven by the City of Madrid through its General Directorate of Commerce and Entrepreneurship and by Torres Wineries; the Market Night has been an alternative experience for lovers of gastronomy and wine that has had the motto "You don't have to get up early to go to the market, live the night of the markets", and which took place from 8:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. in three places: the markets of Barcelo, Peace, Y sales.
martha figs, Delegate for Equity, Social Rights and Employment, was present at the Market Night, specifically in the Barcelo Market, where accompanied by the General Director of Commerce and Entrepreneurship, Concha Diaz de Villegas, and the sponsors of Torres Wineries; he tasted excellent tapas prepared in the market stalls, paired with different types of wines, and had the opportunity to talk with the market merchants, and with the neighbors present.
Diaz de Villegas stated in relation to "Night of the Markets" and in general to the campaign “I like my Market” that "we try to value the municipal markets as an essential commercial format of the city, to eat well, because they have the best food offer, but above all so that the city has sustainable growth and is a meeting point for the neighbors of the neighborhood".
In the three markets in which the activity has been carried out, a total of 80 establishments have participated, whose products have been able to enjoy, already at night, all the people who have come to enjoy this experience.
