With a endowment of 480,000 euros and promoted by the General Directorate of Innovation and Entrepreneurship of the Madrid City Council, the "Awards blockchain and Advanced Technologies 2022” are the most important in their category.
Objectives
The City Council wants to facilitate the activity of startup and innovative SMEs in the city, and to do so specifically in the areas that can most strongly contribute to the necessary digital transformation of society, such as blockchain and others advanced technologies.
These awards seek to recognize and give visibility to startup and professionals who have excelled in raising solutions based on the use of these disruptive technologies. The aim is to strengthen the innovation sector in Madrid by making visible the entrepreneurs who promote and have adopted them, and to spread these tools among small and medium-sized companies to make them more competitive.
Requirements
Applicant companies must meet the following requirements:
- Be constituted as an SME, according to the definition established in the recommendation of the European Commission of May 6, 2003.
- Be constituted in one of the following legal forms:
- Natural person: individual or self-employed entrepreneur, limited liability entrepreneur, community property and civil companies.
- Legal entity: public limited company, limited company, new company limited company, labor limited company, cooperatives and associations that carry out an economic activity on a regular basis.
- Have tax residence in Spain.

Awards
will be awarded 12 prizes of 40,000 euros each, in total 480,000 euros, which makes them the best endowed in their class
The solutions that are presented among the following will be awarded categories:
Energy
Certification of the carbon footprint of organizations and sustainable consumption, establishing a traceability system that shows the origin of the energy consumed and billed, identifying and assuring the final consumer the percentage of energy from renewable sources.
Energy
Creation of a certification system for the green origin of hydrogen or biogas.
Edification
Creation of a certification model for materials and processes that guarantees the sustainability of final construction projects.
Entrepreneurship
Creation of a model that allows knowing with guarantees the trajectory of a startup (financing rounds, commercial operations, investments,...) as well as the agents that intervene (investors, clients, partners...) in the process of creation and growth of startup and scaleups. employing blockchain or artificial intelligence or other technologies.
smart contracts
Creation of a secure end-to-end system that guarantees the transfer of rights included in a private contract. An example transferred to the energy field could be the exchange of energy between end customers, formalized through micro contracts.
Sustainability certificates applicable to various sectors
Creation of a certification model for waste management, mobility, green spaces, the water cycle, manufacture and manufacturing, the agri-food sector (denomination of origin, food safety, organic products).
metaverse
Design of a model that allows the collaborative creation of digital content between agents and entities from the real world and the metaverse, to guarantee the authorship of said content, increasing trust between the participants. employing blockchain or artificial intelligence or other technologies.
Metaverse for cities
Development of a communication system through the metaverse for citizens, companies and public administration to interact. employing blockchain or artificial intelligence or other technologies.
Documentary traceability in public administration
Verification of the processing status of an administrative procedure. This model would make it possible to automate procedures and be implemented in certain administrative procedures.
global identity
Creation of a universal identity system, decentralized and shared between the different entities, and that allows to ensure end-to-end operations.
Information exchange systems between operators to improve and ensure communication between them and with third parties
This system could be used for mobility operators that use a shared payment processor (payment of tolls, car parks, shared mobility). Another example could be its use for logistics operators that would allow the guaranteed location of fleets and goods. employing blockchain or artificial intelligence or other technologies.
Urban informants
Creation of a support system for the urban planning informants of the Madrid City Council, through natural language processing, offering answers to the questions raised in urban planning matters, in real time. employing blockchain or artificial intelligence or other technologies.
A jury of recognized academic and business prestige will choose the best solutions, which will be announced at the awards ceremony.
