'Volcanic Xperience': the Government of the Canary Islands together with the Madrid City Council bring tropical fruit and healthy lifestyle habits to the capital

The Government of the Canary Islands, with the institutional support of the Madrid City Council, has brought the event to Madrid Volcanic Experience, with a series of free workshops open to the public in which it is intended to publicize the tropical fruits grown in the Canary Islands whose season begins now. From December 12 to 15, the municipal markets of Ventas, Santa María de la Cabeza, Prosperidad and Barceló will host this initiative to make consumers and merchants aware of the quality of these tropical fruits produced in the Canary Islands, as well as to promote healthy habits. of feeding.

Concepción Díaz de Villegas, General Director of Commerce and Entrepreneurship, participated in the workshop held yesterday morning at the Santa María de la Cabeza Market. The attendees enjoyed a cooking demonstration based on Canarian tropical fruits. In the afternoon, two more cooking workshops for children and families were held. The chefs Abraham Ortega and Miguel (responsible for the chef pepo project children's kitchen) are in charge of giving these workshops.

Today December 14 Volcanic Xperience will attend the Prosperity Market with the following program:

From 12:00 to 13:00 – Cooking workshop for adults with Chef Miguel and Chef Abraham Ortega, where international cuisine recipes based on Canarian tropical fruits will be prepared.

From 17:00 to 18:00 – Cooking workshop for children and families with Chef Pepo and Chef Miguel where international cuisine recipes based on Canarian tropical fruits will be prepared.

From 18:00 to 19:00 – Cooking workshop for children and families with Chef Pepo and Chef Miguel where international cuisine recipes based on Canarian tropical fruits will be prepared.

 With the support of this initiative from the Government of the Canary Islands, the Madrid City Council also intends to promote the new image of the Municipal Markets activities for girls and boys and good eating habits

The initiative, co-financed with funds from the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER), is part of the "Grow Together" project jointly developed by the Canary Islands Executive Department of Agriculture and Tourism, whose objective is to value local products and promote their marketing inside and outside the Archipelago, thus promoting the work of Canarian farmers, ranchers and fishermen. This is the first of a series of actions that will be carried out during 2018 and that will culminate in the opening of a distribution hub for Canarian agricultural productions in Madrid.
